Bafana Bafana secured a crucial 2–1 victory over Guinea in their African Nations Championship (CHAN) Group C clash, putting themselves firmly in contention for a spot in the knockout stages.
The South Africans started brightly, with captain Neo Maema opening the scoring in the 10th minute after a slick team move, giving Bafana an early advantage. Guinea responded just before halftime, leveling the score and setting up a tense second half.
However, Bafana regained control shortly after the break when Thabiso Kutumela capitalized on a precise cross to fire home the winning goal. Despite Guinea’s efforts to find another equalizer, South Africa’s defense and goalkeeper held firm to secure the vital win.
With this result, Bafana Bafana boost their chances in Group C and will look to build on this momentum in their upcoming fixtures.
